Until that scene with Carson, I totally had this "What would they *talk* about" moment, picturing JOhn and Rodney on an awkward first date, with Rodney all nervous and smiling too much and John kinda looking anywhere but him, and then they'd both reach for the rolls at the same time and bump hands and then laugh and then talk over each other until Rodney finally snaps out of it and starts acting normal, letting John relax into himself, and then they talk about all the food they've eaten since back on earth and get a little nostalgic for Atlantis and then they make out.
