I think it is because they are all so gay already in canon. Pete fully admits to being a makeout king (hahha oh pete, your conceit is showing) and there are thousands of photots of patrick and pete being snuggly. That said, if I was to write such a plot, I would imagine Ashley S (who is truely rumored to be higher than a kite) trying to seduce Patrick since no one can resist him for long, and the media finds out. Pete true to form will be utterly heart-broken, and while the goss mags first say it is because Ashely has broken his heart, the lyrics of
"chicago thighs" are shown to some clever hacks and Pete's oh-so-secret love for Patrick is revealed! \o/ The theories then abound about how Ashley seduced Patrick only for revenge, or maybe Pete wanted a threesome, and Pete will need to marry Patrick to show his love is pure.
