So apparently there will be no girls in my apartment building AU, unless they're, like, peripheral, because I can hardly juggle all the characters and storylines I already have. I'm usually pretty good with throwing new people into the mix, but I don't want this to get out of hand. I really want this to actually resolve at some point, and not just be two weeks in the life or whatever. I briefly toyed with the idea of merging this with my 50 states challenge prompt, and then I realized I'd have to map out Philly in my mind and change Spencer's job and possibly figure out what kind of apartment buildings are available near South St [because Gerard has a store in the bottom of the building, and it would be awesome if it was on South St y/y?] and that's really daunting. If anyone in Philly would like to help with that, let me know. Otherwise it's just going to be adrift in [insert fictional city here].

In other news, I was hoping to edit my Ryan crossdressing AU and send it back to [livejournal.com profile] joyfulseeker for what would hopfully be the last perusal, except I have NO MOTIVATION. Why the hell is that? It's 57 pages long, people, and I. I'm not sure I even like it. What do you do with stuff like that? Do you edit and post it anyway? It could possibly be because I've been staring at it for months now, but I don't know. I think I used to like it? Maybe? What are all your opinions on this matter?

Ryan crossdressing AUs will ALWAYS be awesome, and there's not enough crossdressing AUs in this fandom (even though they all look like pretty girls and it's actually canon for MCR). So please post it. :)

isn't that basically the best thing ever that it is? how many fandoms can say that they have crossdressing as canon?

well, aside from probably wentzverse and just nobody knows about it, but still.

wait wait. i don't know if we've covered this before, but you live in PHILLY?!?!?!?!yo, Philadelphia is my brother from another mother. i live in New York, but my sister went to college in Philly, and now she lives there, and i visit often, because it is like a WAYYYY cool city. WAY.

not to mention Philly cheese steaks.

about your crossdresser!Ryan: you might not like it, or consider it good, but send it out because we will like it. also, feedback's good, so maybe you'll see what other people see and start loving it more. regardless, i am chomping at the bit for it, whoa dude, it's like a physical want and i hasta have it. that is my opinion. :)

I am totally from Philly! Well, technically outside of Philly, but I work downtown in center city :) Philly cheese steaks are awesome. Jim's on South St are the BEST!

*le sigh* I guess I have to post it eventually, because it's so long and it really did take a while to write, so there's some effort behind it? So that counts?

Sure, if you really want to read it, that would be great! I think it's the one you saw the first draft of? Maybe? Unless I'm confusing my betas :) I will organize and send it off.

Dude, no, you have to finish it. The world deserves to see it, especially the sexy awesome tense awkward bit in the middle, and "peanut," and William!

Sometimes I find that when I find myself unmotivated to work on what I've been writing, it's because subconsciously I feel like there's a problem with something that I'm working on in the back of my mind, and I just really need some time to sort it out in my back-brain before I'll let my front-brain know about it. My two cents, for what it's worth.

(For instance, there's this Pete/Patrick trashed thing that I SWEAR has been like one constantly-shifting bridging scene away from being finished for about three months now. Sigh.)

You know, when I first got it back from you I totally rewrote a lot of parts! Like, little changes and stuff; I was on a roll! And then I wanted to go back through and do, like, a flow check and word choice check and I can't make myself do it. I think you're right. I think I just need to hold onto it and wait and see if my mind can fix it - It's so sad when this happens, though. I'm still hoping maybe I can fix it before the challenge deadline, too *crosses fingers*

SO like i have only put out 2 works of fic for the consumption of the world. One was the one about 3 weeks on my LJ and the HP one.

All the rest are in various diaries and old uni writing books. I tend to put them aside, usually unfinished cause i get stuck and then come back to them months and years later and i either hate them or like them.

that's why I hate holding onto stuff that's nearly finished, because you put in so much work, and they're never as bad as you think they are? But if you put them aside they're never going to get posted, because you go back and just hate them or whatever. I think I've had too much time with this fic!

It's because you've been staring at it for too long. *nods* We wanna read it anyway. I'm sure we'll love it.

PS - If I had was going to hypothetically send you an awesome t-shirt, what size would you want in men's sizes? Hypothetically speaking, of course. In this hypothetical world I would also need your mailing address.

Ahahaha. I have a genderswap on my hard drive that just hit ten thousand words, making it the longest thing I have ever written (longer than my longest NaNo attempt, even) and I have been working on it since June. I sympathize.

(But duuuuude. Ryan crossdressing AU! The people, they want to see it!)

Doesn't it just get harder and harder to work on the longer it's just sitting there? I have someone reading the crossdressing AU as we speak and giving it a thumbs-up or thumbs-down, but I'm hoping it can be salvaged!

It does! And then people have thoughtful discussions of characterization that I agree with, but which are completely opposite my giant fic of doom, and then it's even worse.

*thumbs-ups at* I have faith in its ability to be salvaged! Even though that sort of sounds weird.

Yes! I think, though, sometimes we just need to stop fiddling with them and let them go, characterization be damned, because, you know, you WORKED for it, so other people should read it anyway *nods* if that makes sense.
