so last night could have gone better

Just when we were settling down to catch the encore pilot ep of that Terminator show, Roxy decides to eat Chewie. I mean, they fought over a bone, but Chewie's smaller than our cats, and Roxy kind of wanted to kill her. I'm not going to lie, it was possibly the scariest thing ever, oh my god. We ended up at the emergency vet for about three hours; Chewie's got a puncture wound on her throat and one just under her eye, which LUCKILY didn't cause any corneal damage. We kept Roxy downstairs and slept with Chew-bear snuggled up to us under the covers. Roxy, of course, doesn't remember a thing, and couldn't understand why she couldn't sniff and nudge Chewie around, and Chewie was terrified of her for about four hours this morning, but J called around noon and said they were playing together again. They no longer get bones, ever ever. I've still got this horrible sick feeling in my gut, because it's not like we can ever get rid of Roxy, because they'd put her to sleep, and Chewie is my baby girl and I can't live without her.

Poor Moose had no idea what was going on. He was following me around the house last night, and he usually just ignores me if I don't have his food.

So, okay. Take my mind off of stuff with drabbles? I want Zack stories. And stories about Joe. Or anything that involves cuddling and/or hurt/comfort.

oh, that's so scary! that happened to me about six months ago. my lab attacked my beagle mix (Lucy), and left giant bleeding puncture wounds on her belly. she'd been acting really weird and aggressive at feeding time all of a sudden, and we had to stop feeding them in the same room and also had to stop giving them rawhides and bones, which is a shame because they love them, but she started attacking Lucy for her bone even when she had her own. :(

anyway, yes. it's a terrible feeling because you look at your baby who's always been so gentle and wouldn't hurt a fly, and think "OMG, HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?"

Oh man, your poor puppy! It really is scary when a dog has a moment like that. I saw my grandad's farm dogs fight a couple of times. Not fun.

Um, your icon sent me to an MCR place. So a little Frank/Gerard that hopefully doesn't suck...

Frank peered around the door and everything was still the same as the last time he looked. Gerard huddled up on the couch, in a cocoon of blankets. Pretty much all that was visible was a head and a cast-covered arm. Taking a deep breath, Frank finally entered the room with a quiet, "Hey Gee."

Gerard looked up for a second before fixing his gaze back on his cast. "Hi Frank. What are you...I mean, um, wanna sit?" Hesitating only a moment, Frank shuffled over, carefully flopped down and tried to cuddle up to him, just a little. "So, uh, how you been?" This startled a snort out of Gerard but he still didn't look at Frank. The pile of blankets shrugged a little but Gerard stayed silent.

Gerard was mad at him. It was Frank's fault he'd broken his arm after all. And his right arm too. No writing or drawing until it healed. Frank almost wished Gerard would scream at him. Tell him he was as big of an idiot as Frank felt. This quiet, sad air about him was almost unbearable.

"Look Gee I'm sorry I..."/"Sorry I'm such a..."
"You go."/"You go."

Finally Gerard looked up at Frank and smiled a little. "Go for it Gee", Frank said, waiting for the latest in a long line of 'I'm disappointed in you' speeches he'd gotten.

"Typical, huh. I'm like a magnet for screw-ups." Frank winced but let Gerard continue. "I'm sorry I messed up your surprise Frankie. I didn't realise I was such a total clutz." The blankets shrugged again. "But apparently I am. So, yeah, I'm sorry I totally suck at ice-skating. Next time your should take Bob and Ray. Not Mikes though. Horrible balance is probably genetic."

Gerard was apologising. To him. For ruining Frank's big surprise. Frank's attempt at a date. Not that Gerard knew that. Moving a little closer to the blankets, Frank kneeled up to get closer, "I thought you were pissed at me. Ice-skating was a stupid idea. Should have taken you out for coffee instead. My date-fu might be broken. It'll be better next time."

"Date?"
"Yeah."
"Next time?"
"Yeah."
Gerard smiled. "Hey Frank, wanna draw shit on my cast?"
"Yeah."

I'm sorry, Skoosie! That really, *really* sucks.
I only have cats and they don't do as much damage to each other as dogs do, but I know that sick, horrible feeling I get in the pit of my stomach when one of them's hurt must be what you're feeling right now.

I would *totally* write you a little something if I had the ability, darling. Unfortunately for you (and me), I am devoid of that particular talent. However, I have to say ZACK AND JOE FICFICFICFICFIC!!!!!! THERE NEEDS TO MUCH MORE OF THOSE BOYS EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE NOT BOYS AND ARE BOTH A LOT OLDER THAN ME WHICH IS SO SAD!!

I love you, Skoosie! *sends bear hugs*

"Bob."

"Joe?"

"I'm tired," Joe replied wide eyed. "Cuddles?"

"Cuddles," Bob agreed, wrapping his arms around Joe.

"Cuddles," Joe repeated into Bob's chest.

Yikes! I hope Chewie's okay, and doesn't suffer from any long term damage.

Snapshots of Zack - Decaydance Cuddle Bear

When Zack started working for Panic, back when they were still Panic!, he wasn't much of a hugger. His job required him to get physical sometimes, but that didn't mean he had to enjoy it. This attitude lasted about two weeks under the constant barrage of Brendon's need to climb on people and Ryan and Spencer's need to be gently led everywhere they went. By the time Jon was absolutely in the band, Zack was an expert at knowing when hugs or cuddles would be needed and actually enjoyed dispensing them.

Still, his boys had fixed themselves a bit, therefore needing slightly less cuddles, so Zack found himself branching out. He dispensed hugs to the Bob-less version of MyChem he found wandering disconsolately around an awards show, cuddled the baby bands when they got homesick, and started having a sideline in protecting Patrick from Pete.

This summer's tour found Zack being well-known as the premier dispenser of hugs of snuggling. He tended to hang around when people were smoking up, specifically so that Travis could drape his body over someone who could support the weight. He was still Brendon's favorite person to climb and Brendon had convinced all of the Hushies to follow suit. VickyT tended to appear out of nowhere demanding piggyback rides in a regal tone that Zack was almost scared to ignore and several photos had been taken of Gabe or (on one memorable occaision Gabe and) William grinding on him.

They no longer get bones, ever ever.
Same at our house. When I first brought my hound home, he and one of my parents' dogs got into it over a rawhide bone (she'd eaten hers...he'd buried his and then dug it up, she stole it, he defended what was his, etc.)

It was horrible, but there hasn't been a reoccurence.

sweetheart, I'm so sorry for your scary nite. :hugs: It's no fun when your babies start gnawing on each other like that.

Oh, that's awful, I've got cats who get that way sometimes and it feels like some sort of betrayal when they do. We've got this one dog, Rowdy, who's a-- I can't ever spell this right-- shitzu? And she's generally the laziest, floppiest dog ever, until we give her a bone, then, if we even get too close, she snaps and growls, and if my other dog Elmo comes near, she attacks. Luckily, Elmo is really gentle, since he's bigger... Rowdy sort of thinks she's a Great Dane...

But I know how awful and nervous that sort of thing can make people. *hugs* Pets are remarkably able to get over stuff like that, I think.
