RIP Mel

It is with great sadness I announce the death this morning of Mel, the 3 ft Savannah Monitor that has been living in our basement. J is so upset. We buried him in the front yard.

I'm not going to lie. I wasn't thrilled with him living in the basement, but he was still cool. The neighborhood kids thought we had an alligator down there. He'd sun himself by the back door. He was pretty awesome, all in all.

I can only imagine. I mean, he loved Mel. Is he going to get another critter, to help ease the transition, or just keep the ones you have for now?

I hope to god he doesn't want another critter. It's kinda nice having the basement free! I'm afraid he's going to use this to talk me into another dog, though *will be firm*

No more dogs. Or critters. You have a full house. Two cats, two dogs, a rabbit..am I forgetting anything? That's plenty enough. Tell him if he wants anything else, it has to be the size of a hamster or smaller. *grins*
