skoosiepants: (sga - rodney seriously?)

Monday bites

* I am starting to panic about a deadline, because my writing feels off, and I can't think of an original idea to save my life. It's particularly hard for me, because I can't write porn, and I keep thinking everything I've written would be better with porn in it. Porn = Magic.

* Last night, J said to me: "You take two great things, Danny Glover and bacon, put 'em together, and you got a CLUB." Apparently, I'm the president of said bacon and Danny Glover club. And really, you wonder why I'm this weird?? Hell, that's normal talk from him.

* Sci-fi has become our default channel. Yesterday, we watch Blood Surf, about a man-eating saltwater croc and extreme surfers, and my god. It was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. And yet, Sci-fi continues to own my heart.

* Who do you think would win in a fight, Teal'c or Ronon?

* Who else simply adores Jonas Quinn? I mean, he seriously kicks ass. He's like the smartest man ever but he's so... nonchalant about it. Like, eh, you could do this and this and it'll fix this and SAVE THE WORLD, don't you think? And he strolls around and has these little smiles like YAY, I did something good! and all he wants is a little pat on the head from Jack. I thought the season without Daniel would suck, but Quinn is just wonderful. Plus, he's Parker Lewis, and that show rocked.

* With these DVD fic commentaries going around, I thought fleetingly of asking if there's any interest with me, but then I realized that I have no idea how to go about it, since I'm not entirely sure where half the stuff I write actually comes from. My mind is a scary, scary place. I think this is partly J's fault. But still, feel free to ask for one if you want, and I'll see what I can do. Or not. Because, and I freely admit this, the idea is merely a product of my horrible writer's block-slash-deadline panic.

* Who do you think would win in a fight, Teal'c or Teyla?

by Jonas Quinn (and having seen the name "Daniel"), I assume this is SG-1 talk, yis? cos I'm starting to think I'm missing out by only watching SGA. Quinn sounds like a sedated McKay. *g* I think I'm very interested in this guy.

She just sucks you into all those fandoms she's in, doesn't she? It's more than a little disconcerting, really. But it'd be hard to get nearly 10 seasons worth of episodes to get caught up in. Oy, at least SGA was only 2.

see, this? THIS is my problem. it's ten seasons. *whine* but I love Daniel so very much. he. he almost seems worth the trial. crafty archaeologist sexy man. I might just have to choose a season at random and puzzle out the plot.

and yes. yes, she does. yay, addiction!

BUT! Sci-fi reruns Stargate everyday at six! So unless you're a stickler for watching things in order, you can catch all manner of SG-1s! They run them in order from season one to season 8 right now... and currently they're on season 6, which has a decided lack of Daniel (though he does pop up every now and then). I started watching them myself all out of order and once you get into it, the story arcs aren't that hard to figure out at all.

oooh, I don't care at all about order! yay! ...but, wah, I want Daniel. I'm prolly gonna wait until Daniel comes back. (anyway, I just got Smallville season one disc one from Blockbuster and I have to watch that batch of gayness first.)

Ah, Smallville. I still can't sit through an ep of that, but Tom Welling is Teh Pretty.

Yes! Exactly. And who exactly has time to read all ten season transcripts and summaries to boot? You could always just catch up by watching this season and being completely and utterly lost. *shakes head* I saw two on Fox5 (affiliate) this weekend, and yep, still completely lost. Something about human replicators, and Carver being gone and then brought back. It was like skipping to the middle of the book, or the very tail end, either way...so lost.

see, all I know I got from fanfiction. so, I know Daniel dies a lot and Jack's son killed himself and his wife is dead. and. uh. mostly death stuff, now that I think about it. I've found my happy fandom. :D

See, you know more than. I know that there's a pregnant chick named Vala, who bodyjumped Daniel at some point last season for one of the last episodes, a person smarter than Rodney named Carter, Jack who was apparently died or stuck in some kind of limbo land, Daniel went off into whereever he went when he died or something on that table and everyone was sad when Jack told them to let him go,and Teal'C is the Teyla or something of the show. That's it. Wow, not a lot. Oh, and the bad guys a bunch of religious melgomaniacs. Pretty much all my information. Most of that I got from watching the reruns a couple weeks ago. Sad to say.

[identity profile] pinkpapyrus.livejournal.com 2006-07-11 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
the funky religious stuff is mostly why I want to get into it! I'm all obsessed with ancient civilizations, and to make it even better, there's Daniel. I like Daniel. pretty archaeologist. toned, too, from the screencaps I've seen. yum.

sorry I'm spamming your journal with lack of knowledge, skoosie. ;)

Heh, no prob. The Ori are damn cool, though. I love the arc. YOu should definitely catch the season premier on friday! It's going to be awesome.

*Grins* I like the archaeology standpoints. I mean, it's a clever way to explore Earth cultures (from all over the world) and twist them a bit if need be. I love that about both shows, but it seems like SG-1 does a little more digger into that element. Well, I guess, I'll just watch on Friday and try and play catch up if need be. Easier than starting in the middle. He's like a hot Indiana Jones, yo.
