* I am starting to panic about a deadline, because my writing feels off, and I can't think of an original idea to save my life. It's particularly hard for me, because I can't write porn, and I keep thinking everything I've written would be better with porn in it. Porn = Magic.

* Last night, J said to me: "You take two great things, Danny Glover and bacon, put 'em together, and you got a CLUB." Apparently, I'm the president of said bacon and Danny Glover club. And really, you wonder why I'm this weird?? Hell, that's normal talk from him.

* Sci-fi has become our default channel. Yesterday, we watch Blood Surf, about a man-eating saltwater croc and extreme surfers, and my god. It was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. And yet, Sci-fi continues to own my heart.

* Who do you think would win in a fight, Teal'c or Ronon?

* Who else simply adores Jonas Quinn? I mean, he seriously kicks ass. He's like the smartest man ever but he's so... nonchalant about it. Like, eh, you could do this and this and it'll fix this and SAVE THE WORLD, don't you think? And he strolls around and has these little smiles like YAY, I did something good! and all he wants is a little pat on the head from Jack. I thought the season without Daniel would suck, but Quinn is just wonderful. Plus, he's Parker Lewis, and that show rocked.

* With these DVD fic commentaries going around, I thought fleetingly of asking if there's any interest with me, but then I realized that I have no idea how to go about it, since I'm not entirely sure where half the stuff I write actually comes from. My mind is a scary, scary place. I think this is partly J's fault. But still, feel free to ask for one if you want, and I'll see what I can do. Or not. Because, and I freely admit this, the idea is merely a product of my horrible writer's block-slash-deadline panic.

Teal'c versus Ronon: Does Teal'c have that staff weapon? Does Ronon have his Satedan gun?... Ronon's got a sword. You can't knock a guy with a sword. So it'd probably be close, but Ronon would probably win at the last possible second. And then he and Teal'c could go and bond over warrior solitude stuff, and how their team leaders are weird (and when I say team leader in reference to Teal'c, I mean Jack).

I was thinking hand-to-hand combat. I always argue for Teal'c, but J says that without his symbiote, he's only as strong as a regular man. He's older than Ronon, too, so Ronon has the greater advantage. Still. Teal'c has loads more experience, being what? Over a hundred? Hmmmmmmm...

I'm glad to find another sci-fi channel freak. I *cackle* through some of the worst, cheesiest films they have and have a wonderful time. Don't watch much other television but their movies and Stargate Atlantis *hearts them*

Jonas Quinn, alas, does not own my heart. I tolerated him, but never warmed up to him. I was extremely happy when my Dan'yel came back.

I have to say that I've seen that movie more times than I really should. I chose to not watch it again yesterday, because of the 10 times previous viewed was enough. It's up there with that Crocodile movie, where the guy looks like Joey Fatone...kinda. Sci-Fi brings all the cheese to the genre.

Plus, he's Parker Lewis, and that show rocked.
Well...after all, PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE. Also, I didn't see that (doesn't watch SG-1) whole season or whatever, but dude, I saw bits and pieces of him, and he grewed up HOT. Like...HOTT. Just saying.

i doubt these will help (actually i know they wont-mainly cause ive tried them and know they dont...although sometimes...) but. but i figure an exercise if done repeatedly usually produces some results (though- in all honesty-usually not the ones you wanted) so my suggestion is just write porn for characters and then try to put the characters you want into the scene instead....at first very superficially...names only then start tweaking their personalities a bit to fit the new characters...or stare at a peice that you wrote for say Ron or Seamus (breaking for *Mmmmm* moment...miss those guys!) and command yourself to make that scene in to McShep in say and hour...in an hour you will most likely have a peice of out-of-character crap, BUT you will have McShep porn (if in name only) now put that piece aside. Dont look. Till the next day. Then tell your self you only have an hour to make Mckay work...the next time Shep (or whatever)...the next time tweak so they both work a bit better...etc untill you at least have a piece of McShep porn you can actually read...then put it away and only bring it out to remind yourself at later dates that if you dont write it youll have to do that all over again...and really, who wants to do that repeadetly? (okay i was actually mostly serious up until the last bit about holding it over your own head...but still...)

Porn: As someone who is terrified of writing smut scenes (I've only done it in 2 out of, like, 28 fanfics), I think the best way is try to write something that is hot to you. Then send it off to more than one person to confirm you're not saying something disturbing or disgusting. Unless, you know, that was your goal.

Not true. Well, not true in general. There is Ernie, the clubhouse, Rodney and John sledding in 'Ring Out Wild Bells' and several other ideas in in your fic that are all very original. But beyond that, I think one of your greatest strengths in writing is your ability to take an idea (say, Wierd Science or Harry Potter) and completely turn it upside down, sideways and inside out to create something unique.

Hmmm...okay, honestly...okay, okay, so porn is good, (now everyone is staring at me and going 'duh') but it isn't all there is. You write some very...romantic scenes. Some of the moments kind of sneak up on the reader but they all fit well within the particular world you create. and you write some stories where I don't think -porn- would realy fit in well.

Sometimes I think my husband would live on the Sci-Fi channel...he tivo's almost all the movies, no matter how awful, then he tells me it's no fun unless I watch them with him.

Jonas Quinn - sweet, but sadly not Daniel I think since I've gotten to know him through reruns, which are interspersed with Daniel eps, I wasn't ever deprived of Daniel, and thus could enjoy Jonas more :)

And I LUFF Jonas too. I avoided watching season six forever but then it was on Sci-Fi and I watched and Jonas is a big muffin. :) They could use him on Atlantis. He and Rodney seemed to get along okay.

Sci-Fi: Worst movies ever! I clicked on a few seconds of Blood Surf but after a bit of the tragically heroic guy with the accent talking about Sparky or Spiffy or whatever it was called and looking like he was really constipated, I just cracked up and went back to watching "Sell This House!"

Teal'c vs Ronon: Age and cunning versus youth and enthusiasm, eh? I think Teal'c.

I've only ever seen one episode with Jonas Quinn, but *I* certainly adore him!

I'd suspect that Teal'c would win. And then Ronon would kick his ass for kicking Teyla's. While Teal's has the symbiote, Ronon is younger, faster, just as big and also a lot more of a dirty fighter (although I suspect he could win in a clean fight, too).

I love Jonas Quinn! I've wanted him to join SGA since I saw the scene of Jonas and Rodney together in SG-1. I think Rodney really needs a sweet and super-brilliant sidekick like Jonas. I once read a story, where Jonas joins SGA, John totally gets jealous when Jonas takes care of Rodney and Rodney let him do that. Jonas/Rodney Jealous!John is FUN.
