Just in case you didn't think J and I were weird enough

ETA: Does anyone think that Clothes Off! would be an inappropriate wedding reception entrance song? She hasn't listened to it yet, but my mom is worried that it'll offend people, and it's the first thing we've clashed on, but since my parents are, you know, paying and it's generally just a huge party for their friends... I don't know. I think the song's cute and catchy, but we'll have a hall half-full of 50 yrs and older people. What do you guys think?

-------

J has this thing. This thing where he makes me do a Jack Nicholson impression and, see, I don't actually have a Jack Nicholson impression, so it's really, really stupid. And he'll do it EVERYWHERE. He'll be, like, hey, do that thing you do, and then he'll stare me down until I do the stupid "are we clear?" dialog from A Few Good Men, with him as Tom Cruise. In my regular voice. And then he'll bring it up in front of his friends, like, "do your Jack Nicholson impression!" and then I have to explain that, no, I don't actually have an impression, J is just insane. Whatever, he made me do the "You can't handle the truth" part in a chinese restaurant last night. I love him so.

Also, it looks like I'm writing another SGA/Bandslash fic. So I have the original, the sequel, the Frank spinoff, and now I'm writing William and his newly formed team.

The Butcher is one of William’s very favorite people, despite his penchant for short shorts and calisthenics. Or maybe because of that. There’s nothing quite so exhilarating as Lieutenant Mrotek’s morning jogs through the Atlantis hallways – watching them, at least.

William isn’t so sure it was a good idea to form an interplanetary team with him, though.

They’d set Greta on him. Sweet-mouthed Greta with curves that make his fingers itch, and Sisky’d low-balled him with his mischievous up-to-no-good grin that he knew William had no chance of resisting – nor did he normally want to - and now he’s a permanent member of SGA-15 and well on his way to getting eaten by the large, gorilla-like beasties on P54.

Hurray for off-world shenanigans! I haven't settled on a central plot yet, so I don't know who else will be involved, but hopefully more Team JWalk and Team Toro.

Oh my god, I am so excited for SGA/bandslash stories, I can't even articulate it. I love this 'verse so much. *squealing and grabby hands*

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Eeee! I'm going a little crazy in this world!

[identity profile] kaizoku.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, my mom has a Jack Nicholson impression! Which I used to bug her incessantly to do. I have no idea what movie it's from, but she pretends to drink some really strong alcohol and then jerks her elbow up and down while going "Ahhhhhh, nick-nick-nick!" It's hard to explain but very funny. (I think J and I would get along.)

Fic looks funny! Don't the planets have longer names than that though?

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea what that's from but it sounds amusing :)

Um, I shorten them sometimes. Convention is 6 letter/numbers with a dash in between, but for character purposes they sometimes just refer to them as the first 3. In my mind.

[identity profile] bluelittlepig.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay for even more off-world shenanigans! I'm so excited!

Okay, if your Jack Nicholson impression is basically your normal voice, so does that mean J thinks you normally sound like Jack Nicholson :-P

[identity profile] betagoddess.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm 57 and I don't know the song, "Clothes Off!" at all. I just want to say that I might possibly find the title ... interesting!, I would certainly not be offended by it.

Then again, I read slash and love SciFi/Fantasy and few people I know my age do, so perhaps my opinion is just a titch skewed!

It's still YOUR wedding! Our daughter got married and we paid for big parts of it, but I left the choice of EVERYTHING up to her.

Than again, I may be a somewhat atypical 57 year old. *g*

[identity profile] heartequals.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
But will you be dressed up in furry suits as you enter? =D

I think that'd be a lovely entrance song! It'd definitely get the party going.

[identity profile] prairiedaun.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Furry suits would be awesome. Dance off!

[identity profile] foxxcub.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I, too, have an isane husband. Example: for Halloween next year he wants to be Clarice and make me be Hanibal Lecter. HE THINKS THIS IS HILARIOUS, IDK.

In other news, SGA BANDSLASH SPIN-OFFS FTW.

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
if your Jack Nicholson impression is basically your normal voice, so does that mean J thinks you normally sound like Jack Nicholson :-P *laughs* I certainly hope not!!

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* just to keep you informed (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NUxMgzHdic) - it's an awesome song! The weird thing is that my parents and their friends, who are all mid to upper 60s, are crazy when they get together. Half the pictures they show me from parties involve the guys in drag. So I don't know? It's mainly the cursing that offends her, I think, and Travis says a couple shits in the song, but that's about it. I think I'll just have to let her listen to it and decide.

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
FURRIES!!

I think it's cool too! And even if people haven't heard the song, they'd probably recognize the 80s tune at least! IDK, I'm gonna have to let her listen to it first.

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
DANCE OFF. MAGIC WORDS!

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
*giggles* that's exactly something J would suggest, too :)

I can't get my mind off William flouncing around the Pegasus galaxy!

[identity profile] betagoddess.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay. I love Rock and Alternative, but I'm not all that fond of Rap, but I didn't find the song offensive.

Not saying I see it as an entrance song (you mean when the bride arrives?) but if you like it.... =>}

I didn't hear any swearing, so it can't be THAT noticeable. Could be getting deaf in my old age, though. Heh heh.

[identity profile] goodgolly-miss.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
YESS!!! See, I don't even watch SGA but you make me want MORE. Did you post your sequel to Supersaturation yet? I missed it if you did and that makes me sad in the pants.

[identity profile] withoutmaps.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
The Jack Nicholson thing totally sounds like something my friends and I would do. But! I want to hear your Jack Nicholson impression! Ha.

And um, I really really want more bandslash/SGA stuff. Just so you know ;)

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I think they bleeped out the three times he cursed :) I love Gym Class Heroes, and everybody dances their way into the reception - although there will be stairs, so that might be problematic. It's mostly for the wedding party, but I'll probably just have them keep playing it as we come in, too.

My brother just got married and he had the Smokey and The Bandit theme song and I had to square dance my way into the room - so embarrassing!

[identity profile] betagoddess.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Smokey and the Bandit? LMAO! Your family certainly chooses interesting music for weddings!

I love Rock and such as I said. I always have. But for my wedding I chose pretty traditional music and loved it.

My sister, three years later, had Cat Stevens "Morning Has Broken" played from a record. Some people thought THAT was way out there! LOL!

As one of my favourite singers of that time sang, the times, they are a'changin'!

They were back then and they still are today. *g*

(I'd go for the bleeped version, though. =>} )

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
WOOOO! No worries, I didn't post the sequel yet. That and the Frank spinoff are still at my betas :)

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-02 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
The best is that he tries his best to actually do a Tom Cruise impression :)

SGA/BANDSLASH! It's addicting!!

[identity profile] seratonation.livejournal.com 2007-11-03 09:07 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno about Clothes off, (I haven't heard it in full, so can't make a proper judgment my slef) but I once saw a couple get married to Beautiful Day by U2, it was awesome. just throwing it out there in case you need a back up :D

I have nothing to say but YAY MORE, except that you and your J *are* insane, and also highly adorable.

[identity profile] somniloquous.livejournal.com 2007-11-03 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Clothes Off!" for your entrance song would be awesome! even though your parents are paying for the wedding, it is your wedding, so it should be a reflection of you and J. :)

[identity profile] vampyreranger.livejournal.com 2007-11-04 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yay for Clothes Off!

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-04 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... I'm not a huge U2 fan at all, so that won't work. It's so tough to come up with suitable music!

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-04 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
*laughs* J has driven me crazy, it's true.

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-04 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
*g* I think we're still going to go with it. We both love it so much!

[identity profile] skoosiepants.livejournal.com 2007-11-04 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
WOOO!
