I liked the John/Rodney moments of the show, but I really like when they balance it and give the other time to bond too. Which is why I didn't mind the Weir going with them. Weir needs to get out and actually interact with the people of the galaxy or the natives won't really consider her a *real* leader, one that knows the people who they're trading and building alliances with.
I don't want Sheppard in charge because he is even more emotionally charged than Weir. Well, more like his own emotional issues charged, but still. Talking is the first step though. If you don't try that, how can you save face with allies, nevermind Earth? This way at least they've expressed the desire and it doens't break some rule of war or something. Otherwise, they might be as bad as the Genii.
Rachel said she wanted more Teyla back story and use too. Which makes sense.
Vala I like, because she's very Cordelia-like. Says it like she sees it, screw diplomacy. The opposite of Weir, but still just as important. Carter I don't like more because she seems to be Little Miss Perfect, and I hate that. She needs flaws, make her more human and still the good guys.
