We have a lot of animals. Sometimes, I feel like just giving up and laying down and letting them eat me or something.

The pond is now gone. Apparently, J was walking Ellie and heard a splash and Roxy was freaking out, trapped in the pond, pulling all the rocks in and crying. J got super angry and took a shovel to it. So, no more pond. It stank, anyway, since we had to take the pump out for the winter, and then the tree dropped all its leaves in it, and then it got warm again.

Plus, Roxy had secretly been drinking the pond water, and now we think she's sick. At least she's on heartworm meds.

Myrtle had a cold but now she's better, and Maude has decided that the best way to wake me up is dropping picture frames on my head at 5 in the morning. Good times.

Moose eats dirt. And rolls around rotting leaves. Or if you give him a piece of shrimp, he'll carry it off and place it carefully on the rug and then roll on it instead of eating it. He likes to smell extra nice.

Happy has un-litter trained herself, so cleaning her cage is just so much fun. Plus Myrtle likes to pee in her box.

Every night at around seven, the cats have a battle royale on the dining room table, up on their back legs, paws wrapped around each other's heads. Maude has Myrtle on size, but Myrtle beats Maude for sheer moxy. Since I usually pile the weekly mail on the table, it ends up all over the floor.

Yes. I am the keeper of the zoo.

I have two cats and two dogs (all rescues) and, despite our best efforts, a perpetually unclean house. Also, a veritable pharmacopeia of pet meds; the vet has our credit card on file.

I can so relate.

Christ on a pogo stick. That's 1) a lot of animals and 2) a lot to deal with. Yikes.

I only have two cats, but God they're a handful! I've got to give credit where credit is due, you're a wonderful animal mom.

My boys like to fight every night at 11. They do this wrestling thing that sometimes gets out of hand. It doesn't matter if we just went through a time change, at 11 on the dot they do their thing. I could set my clocks by it. I've got very weird kitties.

Ugh, I can relate. We have so many cats right now -- mainly because we keep on taking in strays, and then they just.. stay -- and they wrestle and knock stuff over and climb into the kitchen sink to take a nap in the afternoon and.. well, I think it is required for animals to get together and drive their caretakers insane on a daily basis.

Mou, I hope Roxy isn't sick long. Sick dogs are depressing. Our Mischa was sick a few months ago, and she was so down in the dumps throughout the entire thing, that everyone else -- cats included -- matched her mood for the entirety of the illness.

7 cats and 2 dogs. My lj title is Zooland for a good reason. We have no kitchen table because icon kitty there jumped off and kicked it with his big rabbit feet, pushing it off the legs and shattering it.

Hope Roxy feels better-I can never figure out why the call of the wild has them drinking disgusting water when clean, cool water waits inside.

Aw. Well, if your ever short on cash, you could open up to the public! I'll send you my eighteen-year old brother, then you'd have a monkey to display as well!/stupid joke.

Seriously, though, about the brother.

*le sigh* So. How be you, despite being overwhelmed with fur?

Okay, this may sound insane, but that's kinda what I want in the future. Except probably exchanging a couple of the dogs for horses. And of course I'll be disgustingly rich so I won't actually have to muck out the stalls myself.

You truly do live in the zoo. *shakes head* But I love the idea of kitten battles, since they're fairly close in age. *pets all the cute critters anyway*

I want a zoo, it sounds like fun!

Frustrating fun, but still fun.

I love all your zoo stories!!! It reminds me of the good ol' days when I lived in a proper sized house that could actually fit all my pets.

My two cats like to wage war in the middle of the night, and Eli has recently learned how to turn on my electric keyboard. Thankfully, we do not have a pond.
