Howdy, I'm lurker of late and poster of never, so this is unprecedented. I thought this was impressive, and I enjoyed it somewhat. It's so hard not to let your knowledge of the story get in the way for a good AU, but you did it rather well. Perhaps I also liked it so much because it parallels my living arrangements from time to time. Now, more Don't Let's Start? *pines hopefully*
