I started out quite early reading Angelique and Regency Romance, so when it comes to ladies meeting exciting pirates I know quite a lot (yes, this is a sad fact). I guess the thing that appeals to most of us (and the ladies in question) is the freedom they had, or rather, took. And it is that freedom, especially in the last part of your story, that makes me happy.
"Hannah was definitely game for a little adventure."
The rough and cruel part of piracy is often ignored, but you made some space for it too in the shape of Captain Pucey. Not knowing exactly what he had done to Ron when he was kidnapped was scary, just because Ron was portrayed as an innocent. Maybe there could have been more ruffians roaming around but having a charismatic crew did much more for the entire feel of the story. Also, who could resist your casting of Harry as the depressed but lovable drunkard? That is certainly one way his life could end up after what he has been through (in canon, and most probably in this fic too after the hint about his background). /Malin
(I'm sorry about the long-winded review, I'm trying to hone my skills as a good reader.)
