okay, so yesterday was looooong

I was off at my best friend's little girl's third b-day party at a kiddie amusement park for the entire day. It was nice, in the way that I haven't really seen Nat and Brownstone and SheShe for a while, but it was long, in that I left the house at 8:30 in the morning and didn't get home until 6. And then I had to shower and head off to J's best friend, I's appartment for dinner. Which was fun, because I love R and I and we had fajitas, and really, there's not much better than fajitas. And R has two adorable cats, who look like Myrtle, only huge.
I also realized that going to another couple's appt for dinner is a very grown-up thing to do. We almost brought dessert. And wine. We didn't, but probably only because I was out all day. So yes, adulthood. A scary place to be. But then I look around my actually DISGUSTING house, and see that I still have no skillz. Can't cook, have trouble cleaning, short-cut everything. Seriously, I'm a prize. J must really love me.
Okay, and everyone should go write some interior designer!Ronon Dex, or maybe furniture maker!Ronon, because
nunshavingfun, to me and J's eternal amusement, and my intense jealousy, ran into Jason Momoa by accident in Vancouver in an antiques store! Which is like the coolest thing ever, and now I'm picturing Ronon whittling a piece of wood or something. Ronon the whittler! DO IT!
And now a little about the 'gates. I haven't read many reviews, so I'm just going to ramble a bit. I loved the special for SG-1, because Gary just cracks me up. I'd love to just give him a big hug. And I love how everyone seemed to be having so much fun with each other. The 200th show itself was a lot of fun, too. The puppets!! And the Jack and Daniel at the altar moment! Okay, but did anyone see how the clip from the special about Vala-in-leather talking about being pregnant and winking at Cam wasn't in it? Or did I just totally blink and miss it? Because anything with Vala makes me extremely happy.
As for SGA, I wasn't really bored with the parts on fake-Earth, but I really, really missed Atlantis. But then, once they started with the Atlantis scenes, Sheppard really made me uncomfortable. It was almost cringe-worthy, his mechanical concern for Elizabeth. If it had been McKay in that tent-thingy, you know he would've had much more relaxed and worried facial expressions, because he was losing his best friend and love of his life!! But ships aside, Sheppard has no chemistry whatsoever with Elizabeth. Rodney has more chemistry with Elizabeth than John. Radek, too. Him holding her arm at the end was just... I had to look away. Other than that, though, I didn't think it was too bad. Nothing I'd want to rewatch, probably. And Rodney eagerly helping Carson was so cute and funny :) He's helpful! Carson wants him to go away! But Rodney knows what to do! It was almost like he was working exactly how he would with Radek, and Carson doesn't know how to deal with it. hee!
And for some reason, I can't remember either of the trailers for next week, so I hope they play them again before next friday.

Date: 2006-08-20 04:51 pm (UTC)And yes, there is no chemistry between Weir & Sheppard and I wish the frackin' writers would just accept that fact and quit trying to make with the cutesy. I'm still have spontaneous stomach spasms over her coquettish behavior with Sheppard in Misbegotten. Ick.

But at least SG1 had puppets!

Either way it's kind of weird.
