skoosiepants: (sga - mmmm)

Dear Flist:

The problem is that I'm an impatient reader. I can't find a fic and then SAVE it, but I'm going to try really, really hard this time. So - I'm road-tripping to Atlanta with my parents (yes, I'm almost 30 and still go on road trips with my parents *g*) to visit my brother next friday (I'm actually thankful we're on stargate hiatus right now or I would've freaked out over missing new eps) and the trip is THIRTEEN HOURS! And then there's another thirteen hours back to deal with, too. And pretty much all my family ever does in the car is read and sleep.

Thus, I need stories to read, since I won't have a computer or internet access for most of the weekend. I need LONG, JUICY, PLOTTY stories. I can't find anything GOOD that I haven't already read, so I'm begging, please, give me something - anything!

Fandoms I'm looking for:

1) RPS in Popslash (any pairing), WB/CW (any slash pairing), or SGA (joe/david - I'm pretty sure I've read all there is of these, though)
2) SGA McKay/Sheppard or Lorne/Novak or Lorne/Parrish
3) Harry Potter Ron/Draco
4) Supernatural Dean/Sam
5) Smallville Lex/Clark
6) Sports Night gen or Dan/Casey
7) The OC Ryan/Seth
8) X-files Mulder/Krycek (yeah, I know, I have a weakness)
9) due South Fraser/RayK
10) Good Omens
11) Scrubs
12) Buffy Xander/Spike, Xander/Oz
13) Any combination/crossover/fusion of any of the above. Bonus for any AUs!!!
ETA: I'll take any Stargate SG-1 fics, too! Daniel/Jack, Daniel/Cam, Daniel/Vala.

The longer the better, and I don't mind angst - love it, actually - but I NEED happy endings. So no deathfic or sadness or irreparable breakups or something.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for anything you come up with!

I'm going to assume you've read Tarowen's popslash Au "Talliswood" - the very definition of long, juicy, plotty.Found here if by some chance you havent read it: http://www.angelfire.com/boybands/druid555/reunion.html

Then there's this one: http://www.angelfire.com/boybands/druid555/reunion.html

It's Xander/Spike yes, but it's also Oz/Eddie Munster. Xander discovers he's Marilyn Munster's son. Not angsty but damn funny.

Oh yeah, I did finally tackle Talliswood... I was putting it off because it was so damn long, but I loved it anyway once I got into it!

Oz/Eddie Munster? Oh wow. Very, very intriguing... thanks for the rec!

Ok!
Spander:
http://www.dymphna.net/ucsl/archive/jamesmadpoetess.html
-anything written by James Walkswithwind and Madpoetess is amazing. It's funny, it's loving, it's adorable and it's some of the best written BtVS fic I've read. I strongly rec:
Small Fry (and it's sequel, Son of Small Fry)
The Domestic Pirahna Series. Yes, all twenty two parts.

McShep:
http://auburnnotlisa.livejournal.com/858.html
Ardhanavishvara, by Auburnnotlisa. You've probably read it, but it is upwards of 10 parts, and riveting to boot. Gender-f*ck.

http://sheafrotherdon.livejournal.com/tag/iowa+universe
A Farm in Iowa, by sheafrotherdon. This story is my North Star in the night sky that is well written SGA AUs. Pretty long, but the most recent part is a futurestory/deathfic, so maybe avoid.

Some other fandoms that you haven't requested, but are epic in length and the highest in quality. And happy.

http://www.shanksadelic.net/users/exlibris/magicratindex.html
Magic Rat's sprawling LotR universe, focusing on Rivendell and all it's silly elves. Multiple pairings, mainly Glorfindel/Erestor

http://www.csi-forensics.com/viewuser.php?uid=140
Evan Nicholas' series "What you Want" (and sequels "What you Have" and "What you Choose") is CSI Gil/Nick and Gil/Nick/Greg. Beautifully wrought. Nicely long. Bit emotionally bumpy, but leaves you glowing.

Enjoy!

Welll, now.

If you're possibly going to dip your toes into CSI then I must send you over to the pit o' voles. Yes fanfiction.net. No, don;t run away! Look for the author Marcus Rowland. He's a professional who posts his fanfic there. Look for his CSI/Buffy crossovers (actually almost everything is crossover, he has some seriously kickass Buffy/SG1 and Buffy/Smallville stuff as well), I think there's six of them. All completely Gen with het overtones but ohmygod are they well written. And funny. And make you go "hmmm." with the logical of it all.

There's a brand new smokin' hot Joe/David on the RPS com LJ, 9000 or so words.

Lance/Eminem- my very favorite popslash story ever http://geneli4.sitesled.com/stoplooklisten.html
I think it's a 7000+ wordcount.

If you are into Krycek/Skinner at all you will adore the Lodge series

I really urge you to try the Skinner/Krycek- it isn't overly graphic, and supremely well written. Mulder and Scully make appearances that to me were very in character. Also, I have a Daniel/Jack that I love called The Grave Yields Back Her Robberies. If I could only read one SG-1 story again this would be the one- it's very believable and I love Sam's reactions at the end of the story.
http://slashcity.org/quercus/Stargate/HappyDaniel.html

How about an Oz/Chris Kirkpatrick crossover? It's a hoot and a half and long enough to keep you engaged for a good hour or so.

well, maybe these won't be new, but you will have forgotten some? i don't *think* they were on your lists, but i can't guarantee.

visiting hours (http://www.improvidence.net/visiting_hours.html), a long gold sliding into dawn (http://www.kekkai.org/synecdochic/sga/long_gold_sliding.html), as the stars fade out (http://cottontail73.livejournal.com/12631.html), absolute corruption (http://community.livejournal.com/mckay_sheppard/1043974.html), biggest ever sky (http://www.improvidence.net/circus.html),
you've read string theory (http://alternateuniverses.com/toft/stringtheory.html), right?

the whole publishing au is here (http://aleuromancy.net/lalejandra/publishingAU.html) - various pairings, but ultimately sheppard/dex. which i was leery of, but it really works.

and some gen that are still totally worthwhile, and certainly long & plotty if you haven't already read them:
eurydice turns left (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=jinjreads&keyword=sga%7Ceurydiceturnsleft), i feel the earth move (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=jinjreads&keyword=sga%7Cifeeltheearthmove), planet megalodon wraith defense force (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=jinjreads&keyword=sga%7Cplanetmegalodonwraithdefenseforce), scheherazade (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=jinjreads&keyword=sga%7Cscheherazade)

the publishing au is actually the only setting where i can deal with sheppard/dex. part of what makes it ok, i think, is that the publishing au mckay is so incredibly awesome.

i thought you probably had. :/

i am shy of gen lately, i really can't get into it - but those stories are the exceptions.
