I'm torn between hilarity and the sad, sad state of the Harry Potter fandom, not because of the lack of great writers, but the lack of um. well...

I love my HP readers. I love my old HP readers because they know exactly what they're getting into when they read one of my fics. I love my HP readers because they appreciate my humor, my... wit? my ability to bastardize canon for my own amusement. I love new readers when they appreciate my cracked humor, too.

I embrace constructive crit as well as can be expected. I thumb my nose at wank. I'm not a saint. I'm not the best writer out there. But I. um. I fear for the future of this fandom, though, when faced with readers like this:

Um. This was for Stranded. Stranded is 28 pages. Stranded is like, 10,000 words. Stranded isn't long. Stranded is relatively short and action-packed. With a random monkey. Seriously, what sort of attention span do kids have these days? And 20 minutes to scroll down? To roll your mouse? My mind is completely boggled. Has anyone else gotten something like this? Does she need a Dick and Jane book or something? Will that be short enough, do you think? Long. Sheesh.
