Soundtrack: Enthalpy

Jury duty has killed my brain, so I'm going to be a little slow in responses to my latest fic. I've drowned my sorrows in music! This soundtrack is actually the second incarnation. I had this finished along with Solvation, and it was awesome and mellow and sad and then I realized that Frank was really frustrated in Enthalpy, and I wanted to try to express that. So I scrapped the entire first soundtrack and started over. Please comment if you download, let me know what you think. Enjoy :)

Burying his head in his hands, he curled his fingers into his scalp, nails biting. There was a loud crash upstairs, and Pete yelled, “Jesus Christ, ow,” and Frank was ninety-five percent sure he was going to die there. Sure he would fade away like he never existed, and the thought of leaving Gerard like that, of just fucking disappearing, made his lungs burn, his chest tight.

Date: 2007-12-23 10:23 pm (UTC)I don't actually mind sitting on the jury, but the day leading up to it was SO BORING, and then of course work was so extra busy, so I felt bad being out :) Oh well!

Date: 2007-12-27 04:35 am (UTC)(I'm really curious: how do you figure out which songs you're going to have in your soundtrack?) well, usually I have iTunes up while I'm writing a fic/reading it over/editing it and I always create a playlist and every time I come across a song that I think fits I'll just drag it into the playlist folder. Or if I'm listening to my iPod on the train and writing in my notebook, I'll just jot down the names of songs and put them in the playlist later. And THEN, when I'm done the fic and it's totally posted, I'll go into the folder and weed through them. Usually there's 20 or so songs in there, so I weed them out for tone/relevance/whether it's a song I'd want to listen to over and over. Sometimes I want upbeat stuff, or mellow stuff or maybe a mixture, and then from there it's a matter of how the songs flow into each other. Sometimes I'll kick out a song I really love just because it won't fit in between any of the other songs, like the transition is too jolting - I'm such a flow h0r! IDK, it's actually really hard to pick and choose. And I think I just rambled at you about nothing, too. Sorry :)
