But he is kind of lonely and sad though. And Spencer seems like a nice enough guy...

Spencer coaxes him into a hug with his wiley ways and soft voice! Brendon is so skinny! Spencer can feel his ribs and stuff! Brendon thinks Spencer SMELLS SO NICE.

Spencer smells like clean things and places that aren't dark and scary and wet. Brendon wants to burrow into Spencer's warmth.

It's totally ridiculous and not a good idea at all, but Spencer really wants to take Brendon home with him. Just bundle him up in his bed and rub circles on his back and stuff. Ryan will KILL him.

But Brendon is so tiny and slight, Spencer figures that no one could turn that away.

Brendon has made a habit of looking invisible, hiding in plain sight, so Ryan doesn't even notice him in the apartment at first!

Ryan thinks that Brendon is a pile of laundry... till he sees the pair of red rimmed glasses looking out at him.

Ryan just stares at him with this what-the-fuck? expression, and then Spencer pulls him into the kitchen and whispers at him to be nice, and Ryan is still all what-the-fuck? but Brendon blinks at him with these huge wary puppy eyes and Ryan's not a monster. he totally doesn't actually kick puppies, no matter what Bill says.

Bill's a big douche anyway. He thinks that just because he made head RA that he's going to be able to boss Ryan Ross around, well that Bill Beckett better not try to stick Ryan with the transfer students floor.

Brendon tries not to move. He learned that if he doesn't draw attention to himself then he won't get... caught.

Ryan tries to talk to Brendon, but Brendon just stares at him.

Spencer decides to just put on the tv and make some popcorn for them all and maybe coax Brendon out of his pile of blankets, but when he comes back into the other room, Brendon's asleep! A tiny pile of sleeping boy! He doesn't want to wake him, because he's got, like, exhaustion around his eyes, so he sneaks up and gently tugs his glasses off his face.

Brendon makes a snuffly noise and disappears even further under the blankets. He smells like Spencer's shampoo and soap. Spencer wants to keep him here, safe and in this chair.

"He's not a puppy. You can not keep him." Ryan hisses.

Spencer resists the urge to point out that he kind of is like a puppy. Just, like, a boy-shaped one. Had Ryan looked into those eyes?

"He doesn't have anywhere else to go," Spencer says instead.
