Yeah, so, my voice will most likely put you to sleep (I am so not joking), something weird distorts the sound about a third of the way in for half a section, I messed up and had to take out exactly one line and, okay, words like "Monroeville" and "Instructor Bob" and "suspects" are really, really hard to say (yet I nailed "surreptitious," go figure). So, whatever, this is my first try and it took me forever, so I'm just posting it for you to laugh over.

I'm downloading it right now, I'll listen to it later, it should be fun, was it fun to do? I was never really interested in podfics before, actually, but it seems interesting now. Why'd you pick that story? Just curious, I do love that story. I should do one, what sort of program do you record it on? If I did one, I suspect I'd do Beautiful World or something Harry Potter, since my bandslash stuff seems a bit... well, they swear a lot, which would make me stutter and go all awkward, I suspect. Not all swear words, but certain words I can write but seem incapable of saying, it's a tragedy. I can't remember, but I don't think I used them often in Harry Potter stuff, hmmm.

I actually recorded all of There Should Be A Name, because it's sort of first in my bandslash list. But I messed up a name and got frustrated and didn't feel like rerecording it, and I wanted to try something experimental with the end of Featuring Murray... :)

I downloaded this free ware called Audacity and looked at some tutorials. It's pretty cool!! The hardest part is keeping my voice going! And it took me OVER FOUR HOURS to record and edit this monster, and it's like a half hour long.

Oh man, the cursing is actually fun for me, and I have no clue why.

so i haven't ever listened to a podfic properly because the idea kind of creeps me out but your fics are so sweet and cute that they're pretty much bed time storys that i want read to me. and your voice is so cute! so do more :D i want them alllll on my ipod.

Awesome! You have a great voice to listen to. It didn't put me to sleep and once you got going, it's really great. It is your first attempt after all. The ending! I would love to actually see them perform the song! What would be great is if audiofics/podfics to have sound effect like they did back then with radio (actually I not sure about that, but I imagined they did) but that would take more time to do that. I hope you do more podfics in the future :D

Thank you, hon! I seriously did not realize my voice was that monotone, or maybe I was just getting really, really tired of reading - I kept messing up and starting over sections! I think the main reason I wanted to record this fic was because I wanted to splice the song in at the end. I like to imagine them all dancing *g*

What would be great is if audiofics/podfics to have sound effect like they did back then with radio I would love to do that! Though it would be so much fun to listen to, but really, really time consuming to put together :)

okay, woah. i downloaded this and listened to it while i was putting dinner in the oven just now.
i thought the story itself was cute when i first read it. but listening to it was ridiculously cute. every 30 seconds, i swear, i was all squeeing and going "awwww...." and laughing so hard i had to stop what i was doing.
i love how you put "thriller" in the end - perfect!
you have to do this again with another story soon, because it's just too cute and fun to listen to!

I started here (http://jinjurly.com/audio/about/how-do-i-create-a-recording/) and downloaded Audacity, and then I went through the Audacity video tutorials to use the program. It's pretty easy to figure out, even though the recording & editing process can take forever! I went out and bought a mic for like 15 bucks because I couldn't figure out how to set up my internal laptop sound card thingy to pick up my voice - plus I have all these noisy dogs, so a mic is easier, and doesn't pick up as much surrounding noise.

I had no idea that this could even be as awesome as it was. I've listened to a couple of the Harry Potter audiobooks, and it's a pretty different experience, but I really enjoy it. It really helps me notice some of the really adorable bits (there are sooo many!!) that maybe I missed before. I really love your writing style, it's very conversational(if that even makes sense) and it really comes across well when you're reading it. I reaaaally enjoyed this, thanks!

I'm going to download it now. I read the story a few days ago and thought it was great. I'm going to give listening to it a try :) I've never listened to a fandom fic before, it's kinda scary. I'm sure I'll be fine though.
