I finally broke down and read Twilight because my mom loved it, so I've been MIA engulfed in that instead of online stories (which is weird! I still haven't read the last Harry Potter! It's in my closet!) but I just finished it tonight - so I should be around tomorrow. Unless I break down and go buy the next book, in which case I'll be gone for a while again. But! At some point I will respond to comments! Soon! I promise!

How did you like it? (I'm a curious cat.)

I enjoyed it! It was a lot of fun, although the writing sometimes felt a little weird, like Bella seemed to not really talk like a teenager, you know? Of course, that might have been deliberate.

No, I agree entirely- of all the characters I really found her to be the hardest person to relate to. But I love the setting (Forks!! How awesome is that!?), and I thought the pacing was excellent. And now I sound like a tool ;).

I'm really trying to come up with a joke that doesn't involve Tim Allen here, but I can't quite manage it. It's probably for the best.

I'm kinda apprahensive about reading Twilight. I'm not really sure why, because I'll read the telephone book if I'm bored enough but there is just something about it that I'm not too sure about.

What are your thoughts on it?

I really enjoyed it! I mean, the writing isn't the best, and it's kind of cheesy but it's fast-paced and fun and it doesn't really ever get boring. I totally inhaled it!

So this has nothing to do with this, but I just saw this ad on tv and 4 some reason it reaminded me of your fic, cos the first pink batt kinda looks like Spencer at some points, so. It's really cute.

And Twilight is totally the best rediculasly bad book I've ever read. Although not as bad as the fourth one Breaking Dawn. Although they're all really good to.

Twilight is so much fun! You're right, it's the best ridiculously bad book *nods*

I have to read all of them first?? I don't know if I'll enjoy the whole series, but Twilight was fun. The writing wasn't great and the plot was seriously cheese-tastic, but it was so much fun!

well, if you know the basic spoilers for the series/last book, you could probably just read that anyway. :D

twilight, really?
i'm not too fond of it. maybe it's because i used to work in a bookstore? hmm. i don't know.
i haven't read though. [icanmaybebeconvinced.maybe.]

as for the last HP book, whaaa?
how, skoosie, how??

talking about HP, i read an SGA fic and it reminded me of your directional series. i am now probably going to go and read it. again. <3

I'm not going to say it's well written or anything, but it's certainly a page turner and a fun read!

I know, I know, I suck - I started it, but it was just so BORING. I really don't like JKR's writing style, so it's tough to get past that when the book is so damn long. Someday! I mean, I managed to stay away from most spoilers so I still don't actually know what happens!

huh. i'm total opposite for that, i love rowling's writing [even if i'm not too fond of the first book..]. i always get lost into the books, lose track of time.
also, how? the spoilers are everywhere on the web. your magic, that must be it. hahaha.

I'm tempted to just make a post asking for the entire storyline and just not read it at all, but I feel like that would be some sort of betrayal :)

I remember reading Twilight Vol.1 before it came out.... the unedited version? Is that what's it called...hm...anyways it was good but then it slowly start to come out with two other volumes and a movie. And I think I kind of stopped because I was in my depressed-that-harry-potter-ended type moment so yeah :) Are you going to read the last Harry Potter book? My friend doesn't really want to either lol

i didn't read Twilight for the longest time because no way would i read pretentious vampire-fic written for 14 year olds. no way.
then a friend, who was of the same mind as me, read it and said it was really good.
so i read Twilight. and i really really liked it. as soon as i finished it, i went out and bought the 2nd book, which i'm currently halfway through, and really enjoying!

and wow, you haven't read the last HP yet? i can tell you this: it was an ok book, but i was terribly disappointed in it as an end to that series.

I feel like I should read the HP book, but I don't really want to.

Hey, so, I know, I just let you the longest babbly comment of all time on another post, but then I realized I could use some Ryan of Green Gables and I went to your bandslash page, and the picture there, I've never seen that before, but it is pretty much my favourite picture of them ever, where is it from, do you know? Or is it old? It looks kinda recent, maybe, hmm. Just, it is awesome. That's all.

I have no idea where I got that pic! I found it in my panic folder, but I think it's from that white suit photo shoot where they're at one of their houses? Maybe? Maybe from early spring, it's definitely kind of recent

we totally should! I have no desire to read it at all, but I kinda feel like I should read it or something. Like I'm betraying my fanfic roots by not reading it.

I hear you about the betrayal thing-- Not reading it is fine, as a conscious decision, but it still doesn't feel right cos of how prolific the series was at one point.

For me it was because I grew up with HP, was in the age demographic where if Harry was twelve and I was twelve--which I so totally was--then I COULD GO TO HOGWARTS OMGYAY, but now it's all, "dude, been there done that got a t-shirt don't want to see what happens next cos I don't care anymore."

Which sort of sucks, cos I don't think Rowling intended to alienate her readers by the seventh book. Or the fifth, even, if all the Pre-Ootp tags on fanfiction were any indication.

Noooooo! Resist! The only good thing about those books are the cover art, and that's it!

The main character is the sorriest excuse for a female herioc figure I have ever seen. Edward Cullen is a creep and the whole thing is just one big anti-femanistic scew of young adult fiction.

I spend a good deal of my precious downtime flagging every single Twilight bumper sticker on Facebook as inappropriate. Which tells you the force of my ire because I have very little downtime.

There's a new memoir out, a humour book, about Death. It's called Death: A Life, and your time would so be better spent reading that then Twilight. Or, hell, read Tamora Pierce's series. Some YA series where the female character has something resembling a brain.

*laughs* it's the sort of book that sucks you in and you read it really quickly, and then when you're done you think back on everything that happened and you're like "what the fuck?". But! I enjoyed it! It was fun, if you don't take it as a serious work. She is not the best writer at all, but it was definitely fast-paced and kept me interested, so there's that. I don't read much actual paper books anymore - it's kinda sad, but I always compare their writing to fanfic writing, and I can't imagine why some of these authors aren't actually published, because they're SO MUCH BETTER than lots of the crap writers out there.

Did you like Twilight? I was so, "I'm not going to read it!" and then I finally was like, "okay, fine - ENOUGH with the hype, I'll read the damn things" and actually ended up getting invested in the damn characters and liking the series!

Plus, they cast Cedric Diggory as Edward in the movies, so that doesn't hurt, either ;)
