So is insanejournal the prefered exodus journal if anything happens to LJ? If you have one, I'd appreciate you either dropping me a line with your username or friending me over there - same name as here, I'm easy like that.

I've backed up both this journal and dirtytrousers with LJarchive, and I'm going to try and back up my communities, too, but those aren't as important.

Enough depressing news!

Um. I don't have anything else to say, though.

Except I had exceptionally vivid dreams last night, some about Mike Doughty, and one about Merlin who worked in a coffee shop with Jon Walker - it took on fic proportions, where Jon kept asking Merlin if he knew this guy (Arthur), sitting alone at a table, because when he ordered he had a funny accent like Merlin's, and Merlin kept insisting that not all British people knew each other, and then Jon was like, but you know Gwen, and Merlin just gives him this you're slightly dim, right, your mother dropped you on your head a lot look. And then I don't know what else happened. Wierd, weird dreams.

Oh, I've been in love with it since USA started marathoning. I love that show. Miss the hell out of Kate, though. But the who show is full of happy glee.

I should make an icon this weekend.

Yeah, I think USA's probably my official favorite channel now thanks to those marathons (well, and house and burn notice, etc. =))

Honestly I didn't miss Kate that much at first, because I had started watching when Ziva was on the team, but now every time I watch the old episodes I get kind of sad, Kate was cool (although honestly I still prefer Ziva). I completely agree with you about the whole show being filled with happy glee =)

You should, icons are awesome *g*

I love that they have 3 hour blocks now. I was all "Yay!" because I didn't get up until after 5, so I was mad to miss it. That means there'll be a good show on now. No more having to quote House Hunters to the point of sadness.

The first episodes I saw were with Kate. I loved how she wasn't quite sure how everything worked, but totally willing to fake it. Her goodbye episode kills me. Ziva's okay, but sometimes I feel like she's filling in for Kate in the story lines. But you don't end up caring because everything is paced so fun.

Gibbs is best not!Daddy ever. Just ask Abbes.

I love to make icons, but I haven't been motivated in the past year. I should do this. Everyone needs an NCIS icon.

I think I got lucky when my parents turned out to be weirder television fanatics than I am and went out an bought a tivo, so I've been lucky to avoid that so far with NCIS, but I remember trying to catch up back when CSI was like that. I don't think I've ever seen House Hunter though, I was more of a bad disney specials kind of girl myself, lol.

Yeah, I always liked that about Kate too, that and the fact that one second she'd be really proper and upright and the next she was doctoring photos of Tony and helping Abby cheat on bets. Her goodbye episode still gets to me too. As for Ziva though, I never really felt like she was just Kate's replacement, possibly because for me they seem to be two totally different characters. Kate was always a little more reserved than Ziva, like she was more normal down to Earth and relatable where as Ziva is scary assassin chick. It's true about the story lines though, however you feel about certain situations, you get sucked in before you have too much time to think about it =)

I actually enjoy making icons too, although ours a probably a much higher caliber than mine though, lol. I try my best but I'm not that good at it. I always kind of have to blunder my way through since I'm too lazy to read through the tutorials. Unfortunately I haven't had enough money to purchase a copy of photoshop for my mac, and it doesn't seem to come with any photo manipulating software what so ever, with the exception of the color fixing and size editing on iPhoto.

I totally agree that everyone needs and NCIS icon... or 12. =)

I don't have Tivo, but I tend to just buy seasons. The only reason I don't own NCIS is that I'm spending over 40 bucks a season, unless it's Doctor Who. And that never gets below 60. House Hunters is a realty show on HGTV, where people look for homes.

Kate had a really dry sense of humor that worked against Tony's overt and MaGee's confusion. Probably why she worked with Ducky so well. I also miss the Abby and Kate friendship, a lot. I think I more meant the fact there was instant UST, ya know? Which was kinda wtf given Ziva's origins. But I like that they talked about her life away from NCIS earlier this season. Earlier on USA, they were playing the child molester episode and it was brilliant. Godmom, who's 75 mind, said that Harmon is distinguished for gentlemen of a certain age. Everyone loves Gibbs. You can't help but.

I have PS for my Pro (on my white one now) that I mostly use for editing photos. I haven't really played with it but I should. And I rarely read tutorials. I just play around with things like selective color and sharpening. I like basic icons.

(Did you just rename your journal?)

I only occasionally buy seasons because I rely on money from my parents at the moment, I do actually have all five seasons of NCIS though (I think everyone has one show in particular that they're weirdly obsessive over, NCIS just happens to be mine lol). I never really got into Doctor Who, but I did read one of the books, I liked it. I think one of my friends liked House Hunters.

That's very true. I see what you meant, now, lol, and I think you're probably right. Although I always got the feeling that they originally meant for Kate to have UST with Gibbs and then they realized that she worked better with Tony, but it's true that both characters were kind of doing the UST thing. That was a good episode. I think Gibbs has UST with everyone on the show, he's just that kind of guy, lol. Hence why everyone loves him ^_^

That's cool, I love the basic icons too. I rarely use them, because I only have so many slots, but I do love them. I've done some basic stuff myself but I'm one of those people who always has to stick words in there, I can resist lol. Do you ever put frames and such around them?

(I totally did, lol. This was actually a name I was using a couple of years ago that I stopped using when I stopped playing around in the fandom I got it from, but then I realized it was one of the better names I've used so... it'll probably stick this time ^_^)

I need to figure out a way to sale my DVD collection, since the economy just put a grinding halt on my life. (Erk!) Get rid of about 200 of them and get some money back in the bank. Who I'll keep, simply because I loved it. But yeah, I have to cool it on spending. House Hunters is good, but it's too much of the same episodes because of how often it's on. NCIS I would love to buy, but it's on my wishlist for later on.

I think they meant for Kate/Gibbs UST, too. Tony just seemed a natural counter for her. Gibbs seems to have that natural charisma, much to Tony's dismay sometimes I think, but especially with certain people. My favorite scenes are Abby and Gibbs in the lab. There's something fun about it.

I love basic icons, too. I have a couple without text because I liked them, like this one. I don't put frames around them for the most part since the internet seems to love putting them around automatically. Sometimes I will, though. Depending. And sometimes the text looks better, but I can't always come to a conclusion.

(I completely understand. I frequently think about changing my name but I can't justify the money, so.)

I know what you mean, I wish I could sell back some of my DVD's, although honestly there's a lot of them I love too much to even consider it. For a while there though, I was completely hooked on Numb3rs so I bought a season, and I loved it. Since I loved it so much I ordered one of the other seasons, but there was some mailing issue and by the time we got it all sorted out I just wasn't interested anymore. Now I have this DVD set I've never seen, and I have no idea when I'll finally get the time to do it. House Hunters sounds a little like How Clean is Your House? We used to watch that all the time, but by the third week we were knee deep in episodes we'd already seen before because there weren't that many to start with. Have you ever seen that one, with Aggie and Kim on the BBC? I think the NCIS dvd box set is worth waiting for the economy to get better (of course I'm obsessive so... lol). The Pauley Perrette/ Michael Weatherly interviews are pretty awesome.

True, true. Gibbs is very charismatic, although I think Tony's probably less bothered by Gibbs's charisma than he is when ever McGee manages to be charismatic. I too love the Abby Gibbs dynamic. The scene where Abby's in the elevator after a near miss and Gibbs goes to talk to her was pretty cute, but then Abby's fun pretty much all the time, regardless of who she's talking to, lol

A lot of the websites do seem to put their own frames on the icons, now that you mention it, I have noticed that. Making icons can be fickle like that, I remember I used to have a ton of folders on my harddrive just filled with 80 thousand different forms of a single icon (and none of them were all that great, lol). It's really hard to pick which versions look the best, especially if there's more than one that looks pretty good.

(I used to just dump entire journals filled with writing just because I didn't like the name, and I wasn't going to rename this journal because 15 dollars seems kind of excessive and I promised myself I'd stop deleting everything I write, but I was going on a whim... which sometimes ends well, and other times not so much, lol)
