Summary: Malfoy’s jaw tensed, muscles jumping, and he bit out, “This isn’t about trust, Granger. This is about you currently being the only fourth we could agree on.”
A/N: This is another HP/SGA fusion fic! This is # 3 in my Directional Series, following Stay Left. Reading both Go Far and Stay Left before this one is strongly encouraged. Huge thanks to [livejournal.com profile] druidspell for the excellent beta :) As it stands now, there will be one more DS story, from Malfoy's pov.

The Long List of Important Story Notes and Warnings!!!!
I hate research. You're lucky I even bothered with a few details in this *grins winningly*
~ "Old coat" is an old sailor, not a misspelling of "old coot" - just to clarify.
~ The Abacos Islands are a string of largely uninhabited islands in the Carribean, however I doubt they were called Abacos when this story takes place - I'm not even going to bother to pin down a date, but 16 or 17 hundreds thereabout - but I don't care. I'm calling them Abacos. Blue Cay is completely fictional.
~ Good King Wenceslas was written far after this adventure as well, but I liked the idea of Hermione's father singing that particular ditty, so I left it in.
~ The ages of everyone are mixed up for the purpose of some accuracy to the time period. And I use the phrase "some accuracy" quite loosely. Draco and Blaise are early 30's, Hermione, Hannah and Ron are barely 17 or so, and everyone else it doesn't much matter. You can just imagine for them.
~ I purposely abuse the word "aye" because I love it so. Also, I take full advantage of the "Pirates" poke from PotC - which I shan't explain but you'll be able to pick up on it, I'm sure.
~ Some of you may hate me for my characterization of Harry in this. I apologize in advance.

Lastly!! This turned out incredibly fluffy, everyone is OOC, my language is much more verbose - I think it's my inner romance novelist coming out - because, oh yes. This has Harlequin stamped all over it. I wrote this entirely for my own amusement. Hopefully some of you will enjoy it as well.
And it's open-ended, nothing quite completely wrapped up, because I might possibly write in this world again :)

The Entirely Wrong Way: Part One )

Title: Imitating Life
Pairing: Hermione/fanon!Blaise
Rating: PG
Summary: In which Hermione is tortured with 80s movie references, Seamus and Lavender argue over James Spader, and no one remembers the end of One Crazy Summer. Non-magic AU.
A/N: I am completely insane. This proves it. The style, the rapid back and forth, is a product of reading too many Sports Night fanfics. I apologize for the utter unredeemability of this piece. Seriously. Also, it really helps to know your 80s references in reading this.

I can't seem to stop fiddling with this! I'm posting it, though, but don't say I didn't warn you that it's odd and flows differently than my other work and possibly skips around with tenses.

Anywho, as a favor to me, I'd like everyone to let me know if any parts just don't work at all, or you think need to be reworked. Personally, I think Draco saves the entire piece from utter crapdom.

Remember, it's an AU without magic! And I really don't think there's any clear plot.

Looooong four-day weekend )

Boring as all hell but soooooo busy. Thank god it's over. I swear my week at Christmas better be filled with sleeping and eating and not much else, or someone's gonna die. And it ain't gonna be me, folks. Just saying.

Working on my old Ash Zabini cookies turned ficlet for those who remember it at The Jar. Draco is purposefully OOC. Currently not in a Christmasy enough mood to write more of my D/G, but we'll see how the week goes.

My father's in love with you )

So. I was a little productive. Of course, not with anything that actually needs to be done. *shrugs*

Don't Let's Start Chapter six is now up on the AT.

Sparkly dancing boys are my favorite.

Will Ferrel is a comic genius.

Roxy the pitbull is dumb as a box of rocks. Possibly dumber. (but I love her anyway)

*hugs [livejournal.com profile] sanityinstrife and [livejournal.com profile] jess_bot* It's that kind of day.

After a recent experiment, I found out I can watch hours of Fairly Odd Parents and still be fully entertained.

My fishtank is dirty. How am I gonna handle a koi pond?

Pirate Booty is inviting David Hasselhoff to her wedding, just to get the decline letter. Seriously.

I suggested she get Mr. T to officiate. Note to self: Best. Idea. Ever.

I just watched A Cinderella Story with Hillary Duff and damned if I didn't think it was just adorable. Sue me.

[livejournal.com profile] sanityinstrife: Maybe an abandoned warehouse? Converted into a top-secret lair? I gotta see a man about some carp.

Harry's intro in The Commune Love Story... title pretty much official now )

Okay, well, in about five months. They accepted my offer!!! I'm so excited I could throw up. And I'm going to have to sell my blood to eat, but I have a house! With a big fenced in yard! And a koi pond! And a screened-in porch! And a shed! And grass! And a tree! And a few bushes! And a patio! And walls and rooms and rugs and stuff!

Settlement isn't until the end of March, because they're building a house and I have to pay for my apartment until April so it works out PERFECTLY!

And since I'm feeling extremely gracious, here's a very very very short snippet of what I'm not naming The Commune Story, but it insists on being called that in my head. In other words, the once defunct Blaise/Hermione weirdass story that was once a gift fic.

Malfoy was pale and short )

I ended up really liking this Malfoy.

Well, haven't heard back yet about the house. Didn't expect to, though, but I really hope they decide soon or I'll go crazy :) Thanks for all your well-wishing!

I've decided to resurrect my defunct Blaise/Hermione gift fic that is no longer a gift fic since I submitted my other one instead. Which is actually freeing, so I can just do whatever the hell I want to it. The flow is still really wierd, so I'll probably only post it here, and some things may still give it away to the author so I can't post it in its entirety until after the middle of December. And after it's done, of course, since I'm still in the process. But here's a cookie-ish raw thingamagig that won't give stuff away. Yeah. Oh, and I've made it into an AU, so if anything seems wierd, that's why.

All right y'all. Here is a special sneak peek of what I've written for Nighthawk Nine because it's what I consider somewhat crucial - at least for Blaise's character, if not the actual storyline. HOWEVER, I'm not exactly sure it's coming off right. So you must give me your opinions. And I will love you forever.

At this rate, you'll have read the entire chapter in pieces before I ever post :)

First things first... a link back to my Halloween story: Halloween Treat.

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween. My two best friends and I went trick-or-treating up until our first year of college, but that's because our neighborhood (they were my neighbors growing up) is decidedly kid-empty, so everybody loved us. My parents get maybe one kid if they're lucky now-a-days. Of course, we live on a culdesac in the woods :)

So now that I can no longer trick-or-treat, and neither my apt. nor my parents' house get any kids... well... not very exciting. We don't even decorate anymore.

Yesterday, though, I went with Brownstone and Sheila and baby Nat to Storybook Land in NJ. Nat was so cute dressed as a bunny, and it was a fun day... long and a bit rainy, but fun.

Brownstone and I got to discussing how annoying Britney Spears' Curious commercials were, and then got on the subject of celebrities "creating" perfumes... it's not like they actually made it. And then Monster Mash came on the loudspeaker at the park and we got hysterical, picturing Britney in her "lab"... "Brit was working in her lab, late one night when her eyes beheld an eerie sight... she did the mash, she did the perfume mash..." Okay, it was funny to us, but then, we're weird.

And now I'm sharing a bit of raw Nighthawk Nine.

Last entry was fun!

I love getting random facts and, somehow, amazingly, it inspired me for my Quiet One's gift-fic! I'm on a roll! And it's not remotely broody!

Of course, I can't post any bits of it here for you because that's a no-no and would ruin all the fun. However, to showcase how sucky and depressing my original concept was, I'll post a bit of that one. No essentials are given out, so the author wouldn't be able to guess it was their request fic (which it really isn't, since I'm not using any parts of it at all in the new ficcy). Am I making any sense? For some reason I feel like I'm babbling. Ah, well...

a very shitty and unhappy Christmas )

Aren't you glad I came up with something cheerier?
skoosiepants: (Neville)
So. I'm seriously struggling with Don't Let's Start. I don't know why... I just can't get into the grove. And I'm afraid to even occupy my mind with a challenge cookie, because it's been way too long since I updated DLS. I have to just force myself through this blockage.

Anyway, I did take a bit of a tangent today, although I didn't write anything new. [livejournal.com profile] elphaba_at_17 got me thinking about my defunct Mutiny! sequel. It was going to be something grand, about the marrying of Hermione Granger, and it kind of fizzled out. I really didn't like the way it was progressing. So for the curious, I'm posting the unfinished ficcy.
