I love Christmas music
Nov. 8th, 2005 01:36 pmI never get tired of it.
But seriously. The stupid lame-ass Christmas Shoes or whatever it's called song makes me want to off myself. I hate it. Who the hell buys shoes for their dying mum? It makes no sense!
ARGH!
/rant.
On the other hand. The Hat I Got For Christmas Is Too Big song is hilarious.
ETA: The Entirely Wrong Way is now up on AT! *dances* *does The Robot*
I'm trying to piece together another holiday D/G. We'll see how it goes:
( fucking hell, it's Christmas )

FIC: Nudge
Jan. 3rd, 2005 12:23 pmThought I'd do it up all properly, with a summary and everything.
Title: Nudge
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Ginny/Draco, with a few random ones thrown in.
Summary: Ginny’s a complete disaster as a ghost, has doubts of ever reaching angel status, and Malfoy isn’t exactly helping matters. Fluff meets crack in a love story that spans the heavens, in which Ginny is deliberately obtuse and Draco is wavering on the cusp of denial.
Notes: I do not claim the brilliance of Percy and Seamus. That belongs to
sanityinstrife alone. I deeply apologize for the liberal use of eighties' songs. And Lavender's crush. And for the extreme cheese factor. Come on, it's me! Cheese is always involved in some form or other.
Let me know if you think this is ready for primetime (read: AT), or if it needs some work. Certain details, such as what Ginny and Draco are, and what "blinking" is, and about the different "jobs" in heaven, I thought were pretty self-explanatory when the story is taken as a whole, but I could be wrong.

So, what do y'all think?

Dec. 30th, 2004 09:58 pmNow that Long-hidden Skies Chapter Eight is done, I've given my muse free rein in the realm of crackfic again. And Ginny and Draco are along for the ride. It's humor meets cliche meets fluff meets crack. Here's a snippet of the first part.
( Touching is strictly forbidden )
Oh, what fun I'm going to have with this!
Annoying tagline reminder: January is the Month of Ron! Please send me your recs, endorsements, random fits of inspiration.

How to avoid updating...
Dec. 20th, 2004 01:44 pmOkay. I'm still working on LHS eight. Don't worry. But I had some fun archiving it on my website. Also, there are a few updates... Three-quarter Time is up there, as well as Rivalry and The Commune Love Story.
But check out my neato keen Long-hidden Skies archive. I'm planning on doing the same thing to all my fics, but I want to find proper art to go with them. Like Stranded.
Oh, the funness of websites! I'm working on updating my ficrec list, too. Maybe next week, when I have the entire glorious week off!
Since I wasted so much valuable writing time updating my website, here's a bit of raw LHS eight.
( Draco battles a roast )
Some comic relief in an otherwise serious chapter.

Still distracted...
Nov. 2nd, 2004 01:14 pmI have yet to vote, but had two cavities filled this morning. Ya know, up until 8 months ago, I never had a single cavity. And then there were three. I'd be suspicious of my dentist - as I've heard many stories about unscrupulous ones - if I hadn't been going to him my entire life. Kinda have to trust him on this one. Must be my steadfast refusal to floss. Too much effort for the lazy! Suppose I'll have to start, though, because the novacaine is just so annoying.
Anywho, I think I've got a tentative idea for a D/G Christmas fic, but I only have the beginning in my mind, and I'm not exactly sure where the hook is going to go from here:
( Blaise has the Eye )
Eh. *shrugs* It's something.
I've gotten a bit more written to Nighthawk as well. I've got where I want it to go in my head, so it's just a matter of using the right words.

Asinine is a mighty fine word
Oct. 11th, 2004 03:16 pmSo. Not much time to write this weekend. It was my aniversary (with J) and I really can't believe it's been a year! Or, only a year. I'm fiercely independent, so it's been rough at times, but still... we're all good. He gave me a south seas pearl pendant necklace. Very pretty. I gave him a playstation2. His xbox got stolen and he said he'd prefer the ps2 to another one of those.
And he took me to a nice Italian dinner that was yum (I'm having my leftovers tonight).
Oh! And friday we saw Friday Night Lights, which was freakin' awesome. Now, I hate sports, but I love watching sports movies, and this was just one of the best. Highly recommend it.
I actually have been writing a lot of my gift-fic - which is turning out to have a brilliant Seamus in it, if I do say so myself - however, I can give you no cookies from that. But I so love entertaining you! Pirate Arrrrgh!!!
Here's a bit of Chapter 18 of The Origin of Storms, then. It's actually beta'd, but there's a massive problem with the climax - or lack of one - and I'm still floundering over how to fix it. So who knows when I'll get it out, or when I'll finish writing the epilogue. (my beta is probably seriously vexed with me right now!)
( darn it, where's the climax? )
Blah, blah, blah, yakity shmackity.

Arrrr, ye've got me buried treasure!
Sep. 1st, 2004 06:08 pmEvenin' folks. I've gotten four more pages of Origin written! Yay!
In a desperate bid to find inspiration, I've been routing around in old disks. Found this bitty crumb in a file labeled "Deleted Twilight of the Dawn." I believe it's a prelude to naughtiness... I seriously don't remember why I took it out, or what I'd really had planned with it. Could make a useful addition to a diff story.
( Never mock a Malfoy )
Nothing much else to impart. Waste your time with this.

My poor beta-reader
Aug. 30th, 2004 10:31 pmMy beta-reader, Angelique, is still patiently waiting for Chapter 18 of the Origin of Storms.
I suck at writing fight scenes! Somebody put me out of my misery! I need any advice possible on fleshing out the following scene. Please.
HOWEVER, if you don't wish to know where I'm going with the end of this story ahead of time, you might not want to read it.
( lamest fight scene ever )
I don't like mondays.

The Aftermath of War
Aug. 28th, 2004 01:27 pmSo, the song sung by Gladys Knight & The Pips, Midnight Train to Georgia, inspired me to write a Draco/Ginny cookie. However, I got stuck halfway through and haven't been able to move past it. Basically, I need to come up with Draco's reaction to Ginny. Suggestions are welcome.
( Mightnight Train )
I'm always writing, even though I take so long to update. Strange.

The ballad of Ron and Harry
Aug. 25th, 2004 09:50 amI think the reason I'm having so much trouble wrapping up The Origin of Storms is that I love my side characters - the interaction between Ron, Pansy and Harry; the Creevey brothers; Snape - and the climax of the story has to be so... Ginny-centric. There's no way I can get around it. Not that I don't love Ginny - after all, it's her story - but, honestly, she's not as much fun to write. At least in this story. I usually love to write her, and her quirky habits.
And Dumbledore. Ginny's linked with his sister, so I have to have him in this part, too. And I don't want him there! Who would be upset if I glossed over the whole Voldemort/Death Eaters against Harry and the gang? That's such a cop-out though.
I'm only 5 pages into chapter 18, and I want this to be the last chapter, before an epilogue.
Here's a brief peek of what I've got written.
( Humor in the face of adversary )
May inspiration smite me into submission!

Disney 411
Aug. 21st, 2004 12:59 pmI admit it. I'm a disney junky. I especially love their made-for-tv movies. Who couldn't love Zenon? Ah, well. PB and my boy, J, think I'm crazy. Although J did watch the making of the Princess Diaries 2 with me the other day... he didn't know who Julie Andrews was. Who doesn't know Julie Andrews??
Just submitted Twilight of the Dawn, chapter nine.
Tidbit?

"Ah, not exactly eloquent at this hour of the morning? Tell me something, Weasley," he drawled, leaning his forearms onto the table and bringing his face closer to hers, "why are you afraid of what--"
"I don't wish to discuss that," she snapped, angry that she'd let him see her that vulnerable, and hurt that he'd throw it back in her face so easily.
"Oh, but I'm incredibly curious. What could you, a brave hearted Gryffindor and cosseted baby Weasley, possibly be afraid of? Have you ever been in the dark?" he nearly growled.
She knew he wasn't simply talking of the differences between day and night, and she bit her lip, curling her fingers into her palms. "You don't know where I've been, Malfoy," she said in a harsh whisper.
