Our central air broke last night. Oh my god. Nearly 3500 dollars. Holy crap. I'm financing for six months without interest, but JESUS GOD. 3500 dollars. And ALL the animals are due for a vet visit. Looks like we're going to be living off peanut butter and bread for the next year.

Fucking hell.

Holy hell. Er, well, you could get a lot of fans until you can afford to fix it? You know like the Walmart kind?

Unfortunately, we needed it fixed right away. For my rabbit. Yeah, I know, it sounds stupid, but she could suffer a heatstroke, and the temp is supposed to be over a 100 tomorrow, so she just can't deal. We are flat broke right now. So depressing.

No, you used to be broke, you're so beyound that stratoshphere now. It really sucks though. And well, at least Happy won't die, so that's a big plus sign, right?

I would come over and fix your air con if I could. But maybe you wouldn't want an unqualified teenager rattling about with the inner workings of your house....

When I visit my uncle in wisconsin this august, I'll make a detour and fix your air con for free! (I can imagine you shaking in fear just thinking of the horror that kind of nasty surprise could cause!)

Oh, dear lord. If y'all are suffering a heat wave as bad as the one we've got, that's the cruelest timing EVER.

It's apparently gonna be over a 100 tomorrow. But we got the new one in, so now it's just a matter of swallowing the price!

I feel your pain...our compressor went out Friday and luckily we were able to get away with parts and not a total replacement. I'm still twitching over paying $300 for a part smaller than my hand, but I did enjoy the flux capacitor joke the repair guy made. Our littlest cat is fighting a kidney problem right now, so I'll be right there by you in the peanut butter aisle. Don't hog all the crunchy, okay?

I think it was our compressor that burnt out too, except our unit is older than god and the guy didn't even know what kind it was. And I'm sorry to hear about your kitty! You can have the crunchy - I always suspected ants - and we'll share the creamy :)

May I asked why you need it that badly? It costs a lot on Energy...
I don't have one - only had one during my life in Indiana - not even in Africa. You'll get used to it, if you drink enough...untill you can efford a new one.

I actually grew up without one, and prefer not having it on when I can help it, but unfortunately I have a LOT of animals that depend on it. Especially my house rabbit. And we have three huge fishtanks that were getting dangerously high temps, and yeah. We do a lot for our babies, aquatic and otherwise *g*
