I have no idea. No, seriously. What day is it? Where am I? Who are you?
I think I might actually be broke.
Elliot has a urinary tract infection, and before we figured it out I thought she'd decided she was no longer house broken and wanted our lives to be equivalent to the deepest pit of hell. Because constantly cleaning urine off the rug makes me want to kill myself.
No, seriously, I'm doing the bills and coming up 30 bucks short. I have never been this broke before. I'm considering selling off Moose to a burlesque house.
I have been a crappy flister, and have complete writers block and I found myself having a deep and meaningful conversation with my head the other day about JD/Dr. Cox relationship fics, and how easy it is for them to completely suck. JD and Dr. Cox work because Dr. Cox calls JD girly names and JD dreams about Dr. Cox riding a pony or whatever. Also, having JD call Dr. Cox Perry is wrong wrong wrong no matter how much sex they're having. And again, I am overthinking scrubsfic.
Um. I think I'm done.

Date: 2007-01-25 02:13 am (UTC)Dude, Moose would suck as a dancer. He'd just sit there and carefully not look at anybody. But the outfits would be spectacular!

Date: 2007-01-25 05:36 am (UTC)I like this Scrubs place you brain is going, feel free to move in there. JD/Cox can and often does suck, but god the potential. They're pretty much the epitome of weird about each other...
I've been on a Scrubs binge lately and a (good! IC!) story was posted on scrubsfic recently, so my hopes are all up :sigh:
If you want to have those deep meaningful conversations out loud I'm up for some fandom masochism.

Date: 2007-01-25 06:34 pm (UTC)Still, I think the fun of them is the pre-slash hilarity or the vaguely angry first-time sex.
I also just read a chaptered one about amnesia and Dr. Cox being nice to JD because he didn't remember who he was, and it wasn't FUN. It was so... generic and blah and floofy. Not exactly boring, but didn't have any true scrubs elements in it.

Date: 2007-01-26 01:00 am (UTC)I remember Amnesia. I agree it was a really bland, washed out version of both characters(though I thought the sex was rather good)and as soon as the amnesia wore off you expect their usual dynamic to resurface and I felt really hit over the head with how far out of character they'd strayed. It seems like everyone thinks that in order to make their romance work they have to either neuter Cox or make JD a masochistic doormat. Just no.
Really, their personalities are perfectly meshed for a (crazy codependent) relationship already. Cox is such a narcissist it's totally believable that he'd (at least internally) enjoy JD's adoration. And JD would be hugely bolstered by Cox's attention. JD doesn't even blink now when Cox rants at him. If they were sleeping together? I mean, it's canon that if Cox doesn't rant then he doesn't care about you anymore.
It's all the canon codependence that kills me ded. Cox goes catatonic over losing patients and it's only JD(not his wife Jordan or even Jack) who can pull him out of it(my favorite scene in the history of ever), He's upset about his son being baptized and JD's throwaway comment makes him face why, JD shaves his head to go an extra mile for a patient and Cox is inspired to do more for his... There's just a million of these examples. On the surface it's all girls names and daydreams but even if they're never in a traditional fluffy bunny relationship they make each other better in all kinds of ways.
Wow, I sound kinda evangelistic, don't I?
Sorry.

Date: 2007-01-25 07:18 am (UTC)My darling cat Dexter also had major urinary tract problems. I know you have probably had all the info from the vet, but I found a diet of solely wet food and lots of water left out for him worked wonders. He hated water from clean bowls for some reason, and would only drink from a bowl left outside with a bits of leaves and dirt that collected in it. Strange (darling) animals!

Date: 2007-01-25 06:36 pm (UTC)I don't know how Ellie got this infection, and I hope that's all it is. She does like to eat everything that's on the floor, regardless of whether it's edible or not.

Date: 2007-01-25 11:59 am (UTC)*winces* Stressin' sucks, I know. Though, still living in my parent's house, I have no clue about how stressful bills can be, but from watching my parents, I can safely say that it sucks and I hope it gets better.

Date: 2007-01-26 02:06 pm (UTC)Well, if you go to college, that staves off a lot of bills until you're 21-22. And if you've got really nice parents, they'll let you move back in for a while after that, too *g*
